A Message from the Administrator

Dear Chevrah,

Happy Secular New Year! I hope that all of you had a delightful Chanukah and celebrated with a sense great joy. It is time to embrace the New Year of 2012. I want to let you know in brief just what is going on this month of January.

Religious School resumes on Sunday January 8th at its new hours beginning at 9:30am (the day still concludes at 12:30pm). There will be no School on Sunday January 15th due to the Martin Luther King national holiday.

We have close to 30 people attending the Miami field trip. We start with arrival to South Florida on Saturday January 14, and attend a fabulous “Cantorial Concert” at Temple Israel of Greater Miami. Then on Sunday morning bright and early we will go to the Mosaic Museum for a tour of the “Wooden Synagogues of Eastern Europe”, Sunday night we come together for Pizza and a Movie, and on Monday we visit “Glicks Kosher Market” in Del Ray Beach. We come back home on Monday January 15th after our tour of Glick’s Kosher Market. If you are interested in joining us, please let me know as soon as possible as ticket availability for the concert is limited. I’m told that it will probably be a sold out.

On the last Sunday of the Month January 29th we will be having Parent/Teacher conferences. It is a pupil free day in which parents will have an opportunity to talk to the teachers about their children’s progress in Religious School and receive the first semester report cards.

Save the Date – February 12, 2012 for the Tu Bishvat Seder and dedication of the Geniza at our beautiful Beth Shalom Cemetery. There will be more information to follow.

As you can see we have a lot to look forward to.

Hazzan Laurie Rimland-Bonn, TBS Director of Education
